There are 8 Kinds of Writer’s Block. But we seem to have writer’s block block. We all get stuck on “The Blank Page Syndrome” and never get past that one kind!!! And then, many of us don’t even know we are suffering from writer’s block (bec it’s a different kind) and we don’t seek help or resolution!

So, yes, there are 8 different kinds of writer’s block, based on the four different thinking styles in the creative process. Each thought phase can be the cause of a block. Either bec you hate that phase of thinking (BLOCK) or bec you love that phase of thinking (BLOCK bec you like to hang out there, and dread moving on.)

Here they are – the 8 kinds of writer’s block:

  1. Never Start
  2. Start and Stall
  3.  Too many ideas
  4. Not good enough (aka, Blank Page syndrome)
  5. Never Let it Go
  6. Get bogged down in the murky middle
  7. Rush to Finish
  8. Deserve a “pass”

What do each of these ways of getting stuck tell us about you? We can deduce roughly what your thinking strengths and struggles are, and plan a workaround for when this Block shows up for you! It’s an enlightenment that can literally LIGHTEN YOUR LOAD.
