Write Without the Fight the book is finally coming out on May 10th

In all my years of hosting the free 5-day Write Without the Fight challenge inside our Facebook group, people asked for this book. And I’m excited that it is written, edited, credited, proofed, configured and ready to go! This is my first time publishing on my own, and I’m learning a lot – and sharing it with you, as I’ve promised.

Four weeks from now is my book launch.

How do you launch a book all on your own, you might ask. Inquiring writers will certainly want to know! Not surprisingly, you can’t do it alone.

Today, we’ll talk about building a book launch team.

You hope to gather anywhere from 25 – 1oo people willing to be on your team. You reach out to the about 4 weeks in advance of your launch.

Here’s what being on the Launch Team entails:

  • They Say YES, and you send you them Advance Reader’s Copy free of charge. (PDF, epub or Mobi)
  • They read the book and write a review. (Hold on to it until Launch Day ~ You remind them.)
  • Tell them the details of your book – # of pages, what it’s about, who it is intended for, etc.
  • Once it’s launched – You need everyone on the Launch Team to
    1. Download the book from Amazon. It’ll be free for the first five days of the launch. they must promise to actually “buy” the free book, even though they’ve read the ARC, bec Amazon then treats their reviews as “verified”.
    2. Post their review.

I really can’t complain. I’ve been too busy, but it is the fun kind of busy. I’m living the writing life I wished for. Yes and…

  • My non-fiction book: Write Without the Fight is coming out May 10th! Big News, I know!!
  • I just got invited to do a TedX in Corpus Christi, TX – dream come true!! <applause>
  • “100 Writing Days of Summer” will begin on Memorial Day – our own summery virtual writing program that will gather writers, faculty and fun on the banks of the river Zoom for lots of learning, progress, friendship and fun. (Details Coming Soon! I love this program!!!)
  • My novel is in rewrite. And I love and hate it alternately, swapping about every 17 hours. Dramedy.
  • I continue to write with a group of cherished Mighty Writers at least 2x a week. Calm centered time.

So, I work to get out of overwhelm, not run from the great things that are coming in to my life, and share the journey with all the writers in my community. For now, I get to write and do all the marketing. But I couldn’t do it without the help of my writer friends.
